Knights are a native team in a sport that people had no prior emotional investment in. The Raiders had a reputation and people out there already had "their" NFL team, usually bandwagoners like Cowboys, 49ers when they're good, Packers, etc.

The success the Knights had catapulted them, as well as the fact that they're color scheme and marketing is elite.
