what I do know is askren displayed a high level of stupidity, like really dumb amateur reaction in there.

Stupidity? Theres a lot of things fighters shouldnt have done when they lose a fight, easy to judge from the couch, masvidal going at him was totally unexpected from askren and heat of the moment he tried to take down that was obviously his plan as you said, 1 dimensional fighter

I don’t see it personally. Think he’ll always be relevant in the top 10 but most guys around the top 5 area are too well rounded for him.

He literally has cm punk level standup. Doesn’t even know how to defend himself on the feet. There are some rly bad m/u’s for him in this division.

His boxing is his weakspot, but it's not thaaat bad. Mas hit the lotto with that knee, aint happening again. T-Wood has the power to stop him, but is way to timid to get it done. RDA will get melted with the pressure wrestling sadly, Usman might be able to negate his wrestling but would have to see. Darren Till, lol yeah that is a mismatch for Askren.

Ben is currently ranked 9th after he got melted, Santiago Ponzinibbio ranked 8, Pettis 7 Thompson 6. Biggest scares are Cov and Usman. I still believe in Ben Askren.

e/ I would compare him to Chael Sonnen more than CM Punk. Absolutely smothering top game when they get on ya, but seriously struggle if can’t secure a TD. Ben is just a more decorated wrestler.

ex2/ Chael has a great quote in his book along the lines of “I couldn’t knock out a narcoleptic with a sucker punch...”

Askren will comeback and probably stronger than ever. Just the way he handle that rude awakening defeat indicates nothing but a true champion mind set.

Masvidal vs Covington will be a fun one to watch. I give it to Colby. More well rounded fighters but in the mma, we never know. sometime it take only 2 second lol
