New update:
So yeah, I decided to play through the whole FFX-2 and last mission, and complete all the achievements along the way.
I had played FFX-2 before (not Last Mission, though), when it was first released. I had a pretty bad memory of it, and I can see why. The story is awful, the characters are bland and shallow, the dialogues are cringe, and hardly any of the developments occurred after the events of FFX make any sense... especially in regards to character development... Yuna is the most blatant case, but it's the same with many NPCs (like Isaaru, Rin, etc).
HOWEVER all the dialogues/character/story aside, the game can still be quite fun. The combat system, even though I don't enjoy it as much as FFX's turned based system, is pretty good once you get used to it. The return to job classes is also nice. Some sidequests were pretty entertaining too, and I had a lot of fun completing Via Infinito. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of this game, but it's a decent entertaining experience, and going for 100% wasn't really a pain at all. As an added bonus, I had fun too doing Last Mission. Pretty entertaining roguelike, although it has a downside, and that's the fact you snowball too hard once you level up your Dark Knight a bit, making the later levels a joke.
Now, to keep this a bit more on topic, let's discuss Guados in FFX-2:
Uhhhh.... unfortunately there isn't much to say. Guadosalam is empty, and you only find a couple of Guado throughout Spira... and for the most part, they don't offer you any interesting insight on their race. While I'm no Guado fan, I feel it's a shame how irrelevant they are in this sequel.
On the other hand we get the awesome Hypellos. Seriously, they are among the best thing FFX-2 has to offer... they are hilarious in this game, and it's nice they got a much more prominent role in contrast to their limited shoopuf riding of FFX. Sho toashty!!!
