Movement on PC is with mouse clicks so probably not similar.

It's most likely the fact that they emulated the mouse click movement on pc. Feedback has been provided and we will see if they tweak it some.

I had no problem with moving or aiming and got used to it pretty quick during the beta, but others don't like it. Some didn't even notice it until it was called out.

It's one thing to have no problem with it, but to not notice? Yikes
If i'm at the point when I don't notice something that major, it's the day I stop playing.

My roommate and I did all of act 2 together and when it came to enter the Vaal ruins he couldn't enter and we found out all the quests we did marked completed for me not him. Anyone encounter the same thing? We did act 1 yesterday fine

We were together on every boss kill etc

Make sure he picks up both quest items from sins level 2 and weavers chambers.. Both of those are required to clear the path into the vaal ruins.. Once inside he will also need to hit the quest inside in order to take any portals further on to act 2 boss
