Hey guys!

I spent some time over this weekend looking for a definitive answer to this to which I was able to find people recommending that LVL 68 or 69 is the best time to start shopping for this item. I found numerous references to an Affix Calculator which I, of course, was interested to use to determine the LVL myself. Alas, the Affix Calculator did not look to be hosted any longer on the referenced site.

I was wondering, does anyone either have a link to a working Affix Calculator or is just able to confirm the earliest / best level that I can start shopping for a pair of Lancer's Gloves of Alacrity?

My Javazon is LVL 48 and is in Act I NM so I was hoping to obtain this information before she surpassed the optimal LVL to start shopping for these gloves.

Thanks, guys!

Just start checking shops starting in A1 Hell. I know Gheed can sell them, I've bought them from him before.

Thanks, Retro.

I would have thought Act V NM Anya shopping if I am LVL 68 by then? Perhaps I won't be. it's been a while since I progressed through NM into Hell.

You could get in NM A5, I'm not sure.

Get to level 70-75 in NM, move onto hell, shop A1 vendors, profit.

I play Single-Pass, Full-Clear, so we will have to see what LVL that translates to in Act V NM :P

Lancer's gloves of alacrity have an affix level of 60.

Item level 63 is required to spawn them as Heavy gloves.

Char level 58 can shop them at Charsi (Nightmare), Gheed (Nightmare) or Elzix (Nightmare).

Thanks for that Feanur! Can I ask where you obtained the ilvl information?

Are you saying that Charsi, Gheed and Elzix are the earliest vendors or the only vendors?

It depends on the glove, because they have different quality levels which will alter the required ilvl for an affix to spawn

Normal gloves: http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/normal/gloves.shtml
Exceptional gloves: http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/exceptional/gloves.shtml
Elite gloves: http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/elite/gloves.shtml

Affix levels: http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/

here is the formula:

IF(magiclvl > 0)

THEN alvl = MAX(ilvl,qlvl) + magiclvl
ELSE IF(MAX(ilvl;qlvl)<(99-INT(qlvl/2))

THEN alvl = (MAX(ilvl;qlvl)-INT(qlvl/2))
ELSE alvl = (2*MAX(ilvl;qlvl)-99))

So for example; Lancer's (alvl 60) Gauntlets (Qlvl 27) of Alacrity (alvl 43) first appear at ilvl 73

Therefore, for the best chance of this item spawning, using a character of level 68 will be best, this way you limit the affix pool.

However, keep in mind that using a higher level character (because ilvl will be higher) will give you a better chance of the base item upgrading in class:

Exceptional upgrade in Nightmare: ((ilvl * 64) + 4000) / 100,000
Exceptional upgrade in Hell: ((ilvl * 128) + 5000) / 100,000
Elite upgrade in Hell: ((ilvl * 16) + 1000) / 100,000

Elite upgrade in Hell: ((ilvl * 16) + 1000) / 100,000

Thanks for that info, Marieusz!

I am at work and can't check those battle.net links atm but I certainly will when I go home.

I don't particularly care about the base item quality so the earliest, the better! :)

Thanks, again!

Power-shopped Anya at LVL 70 in NM for about 4 hours. Saw the following before I saw the correct set of mods.

+3 passive / 20IAS
+3 martial arts / 20IAS
+2 passive / 20IAS
+3 passive / 20IAS

It really was a test of my patience but I calmly sat there, listening to my EPL football commentary knowing that I would ultimately find the correct set of gloves... And I did :D

The 20IAS has really sped up my attack speed..!

Onwards to NM Baal and then I will be farming NM Andy and Meph for what will probably be a long time before I move in to Hell

Thanks for all your help, guys!
