are laptops different then pcs? cause 2.5ghz seems slow for a cpu

its an ok system for the money, I'd look for something with a higher frequency cpu

Pretty sure thats normal for intel cpu, they boost over 4.5

dont think you would want to double the cpus speed in a laptop that sounds like asking your laptop to overheat if its not already from gaming that would probably do it and thats assuming the cpu could even do that
thats a low base though for comparison my 15ish? year old cpu is 2.8ghz and my like 5 year old one is 3.5 with boost up to 3.9 or something i think most modern intels are in the 3s and can boost up to 4s and higher end start in 4s boost to 5s
if your buying something new id look for atleast like 3.2+ 3 minimum imo
