I ended up voting BCNDP. More because the BC Libs didn't even try competing in my riding, but still. On the net Horgan has done an OK job, much better than anything we got from Crusty and would've gotten from Wilkinson (who thought Crusty got unlucky). Need the BC Libs to realize the days of jerking off real estate agents and worshipping foreign investors are over.

Pretty much. I also prefer icbc being discounted 20% or more, hopefully "back to normal" overtime than letting liberals and their private insurance butt buddies come over and feast on British Columbians too

I voted Liberal.

NDP won port Coquitlam by a landslide though.

Mike Farnworth is a local who has been in politics for decades. I don't think he will ever be unseated.

My Vote was mainly out of frustration on Horgan calling a self serving election. Furthermore I disliked how quickly he struck up a deal with Weaver only to kick the Greens to the curb down the road.

Distasteful in my eyes.

Overall I am not disappointed, nor impressed with the NDP. Liberals had their chance in BC for ~ 15 years and I don't think they did much to help the average British Columbian.

I think that is part of the reason why the NDP picked up such a decisive win.

don't blame people at all for voting Libs just because of the timing of the election. but I don't blame Horgan for doing it either. The province's finances will take a shellacking next year, social spending and public services jobs will be slashed, and I guarantee the BCNDP will push LNG/Mining/Lumber projects to keep people employed, which are things the BC Greens would never support.

only thing i worry about is: all the ndp policies - they all require additional capital

where is the money going to come from?

some form of tax one way or the other

politicians are always willing to provide people with social programs or perks because for every 1 dollar they take they only need to give back to the masses 70-80%

government should only require funding for major infrastructural projects where multiple areas would benefit and no private companies would build it by themselves because they would earn little to no money doing so

of course there should be basic monetary and emotional support for people less fortunate but it's a fine balance, you don't get a hardworking base if you incentivize them to not work hard

edit : good for horgan to get rid of the greens though, be interesting to see what he does being independent of them, maybe he'll change my mind about the ndp

^ that's why I think Horgan called the election now, he will have to make cuts and encourage investment that the Greens would absolutely not stand for.

also lolz:
