To be honest not really sold on either or. I like the hardwood approach but I’m pretty sure those type of smokers cost a little more? Charcoal is easier?

tbh if i had nothing, i would get a pellet smoker and be done with it. you dont have to maintain the fire on your own for a long smoke, and you can get models with wifi/bluetooth built in so you can temp control and set it to ramp up or lower the heat and you dont physically have to handle it

and to me, the best company on the market right now is green mountain grills. ive used camp chef and traeger and gmg and i like the gmg the best.

looks like i will have to gift myself a toilet auger for christmas reep. too much turkey

Definitely dont downplay yours/friends allergies. Had peanut butter and took seconds to be short of breath. Havent had a test or a reaction for over 25 years. EpiPen saved me
