I dont know when they got ahead of the book, but i found the first 2-3 maybe 4 (cant remember its been a while) seasons to be great compared to the last few seasons that have been just alright

Last season they went on their own I believe. So season 7 and 8

They were probably assuming RR Martin would finish the last book before they got this far into the show, he promised them it in 4 years, it’s now 8 years and it may never come lol

Season 5 is where the show started to surpass the books. The majority of the season was taken from the books but a few characters, such as Jamie’s trip to Dorne and Sansa’s imprisonment by Roose are events that have not yet occurred in the books. Both of these story lines are likely to vary quite a bit if GRRM does finish his books since neither Sansa or Jamie had major involvement in book 5 and are in quite different places in the books. The events involving Sansa/Roose in season 5 actually happen to her friend Jeyne Poole in the book, and Jamie has just met up with Brienne and is seemingly ready to follow her in the search for Sansa.
Season 6 was 100% past the books.

The book rape of Jeyne was way worse than the Sansa rape in the show. GRRM is such a fucked up guy. Show >

I don’t actually recall any first person chapters in the book for Roose / jeyne/Arya, but it has been awhile since I read dwd. The show basicly substituted Sansa for Jenye/Arya for simplicity since Sansa’s story was a bit behind in the books and rather far from the rest of the action. I was always surprised how much screen time Roose got for a guy that was only mentioned 3rd person in the books as I recalled it.

I have been sitting in a truck all day for nearly an year ++ with no day off

I just started doing some hiking and biking

holy fuck i'm out of shape lol

i'm so far away from doing my 14km mountain hiking in like 4 or 5 hours


I used to do nearly 50 km on a mountain bike and it was super easy
I may have done..16-20 km today? and it was...something

the muscles got back into it pretty easily

the cardio is totally gone
