unfortunately, the cardinals are at a point where they have to take some risks if they want a chance to win the division and run deep in the postseason. their current risk adverse strategy isnt cutting it.
I lived in stl for sometime the only plus to it is that it is a huge baseball town. they really embrace the players there and the stadium is beautiful. the franchise never signs big money free agents but goes after the potential players or the "B" type free agents. I wouldn't call it a small market even though it is with the way the city goes all in for them I'd consider it a mid market team. with the starting pitching they have they will be in contention they will always be around. they won a ws with an 83 win team once for god sakes. Do i see them going after either machado or harper? highly unlikely
