Quick update: I haven't been able to play much this season because of work. I just got up to rank 13 using just zoo lock. When I had the deck tracker active I think I had above a 60% winrate but I didn't use it on every game.

Also, I ended up preordering the grand tournament 50 pack thing. I feel kind of dirty paying money for something I could get in game for free but I kind of looked at it as a birthday present to myself.

So here's the plan from here:
-with the dust I get from TGT, craft Antonidas and make a viable tempo Mage. I'm at like 1,200 dust now so I might even be able to craft him before TGT.
-get golden Mage
-continue playing tempo Mage, zoo lock, and midrange hunter. Patron just wasn't doing it for me.

I've been going on reddit's CompetitiveHS subreddit and they have some really good guides there. The current meta report listed midrange hunter as tier one (and 2nd highest rated iirc), and tempo Mage and zoo as tier two, so they both should do okay. I think zoo lock is falling behind demon zoo so I might hold off on playing zoo until I get malganis, if I do.

I dicked around in casual mode with a really heavy druid for the 5+ mana minion daily. Got matched up with a Mill Rogue and had Deathwing. I thought it was funny. I think I lost though.






But more importantly, I got antsy and disenchanted some goldens to craft this. Grinding out as tempo mage now.






Had this really close match against Bloodlust Shaman. Top-decked fireball to win.

Here's from 25 wins away, but at the time of this post it's 19 wins away.






Saw that I had over 1,000 play mode wins. I thought that was neat.

Been playing Midrange hunter the last few weeks, been doing well with that. But first, here's how my TGT pre-order went.... spoiler alert: not great.

This was the only legendary card I got. Granted, it seems useful, I would have liked Rhonin or probably some others.






And this is how much dust I got, plus ~250 from disenchanting gold cards. Right now, I have like 1,550, so I can get a new legendary soon.

Climbed up to rank 9 before TGT release.






After it came out, I kept the midrange hunter deck and got up to rank 8, which matches my previous highest rank.






I took out Defender of Argus and Houndmaster, and added in 2 Ram Wrangler's to my hunter deck and was able to climb up to a new high of rank 7 pretty easily. I think I can get at least rank 5 this season. With everyone experimenting with TGT decks the climb is a bit easier I think.

So, going into this new season, here are my resolutions:

1) Take my goddamn time. So many times I rush into a play because it looks good and I end up misplaying in some way because of bad sequencing or not counting my mana correctly.

2) Think things out a lot. I often just focus on what's in front of me, instead of thinking about the upcoming turns. I also focus a lot on my hand and my board, and I don't consider what my opponent is likely to have. So that is something I need to work on.

3) Study. I typically net deck but I don't read about how to play the deck, so I am going to be better about that. I also am going to try to be better about finding good twitch vods or youtube videos of top players playing the deck I want to learn so I can learn how to play it well.

4) Take notes. I am going to start keeping a journal where I can take notes about my matches, including things like how I fare against certain decks, as well as particular cards/plays that really affected the match.

5) Use the deck tracker. I used it before but I got lazy about updating my decks and using it. It is a valuable tool so I am going to make an effort to use it all the time.

6) Learn the current meta decks. I am not only going to study up on the decks I am playing but I will take some time studying the decks I am likely to play against. Currently this is flood/secret paladin and dragon priest. I won't study these as much but I should learn the basics; more than I can learn by just playing against a few of them.


I think if I am good with keeping up with these 6 resolutions of mine I will have a decent chance of getting legend.
