Smith has been playing like a fucking god. He's even been entering Vezina conversations. We haven't had a goaltender playing this good in a very long time.

This guy is like impossible to read lol. Never know what you're going to get year-by-year.

So I'm sure everyone else has noticed the trend by now but since 2016-2017 this team/core has proven it is incapable of playing 60 playoff minutes. Especially frustrating during this series which may very well be the least physical series this year and maybe the least physical series this team has ever faced.

Besides the obvious contract issues, how do you even go about fixing this issue?

Perhaps this young team needs more "veteran presence" with someone who's won a cup before? Who would fit that bill and want to be in Edmonton? (my initial thought are guys like Doughty/Chara which I do not see moving teams but you get the point)

The most obvious upgrade would be getting some proper bottom 6 forwards who will produce sometimes, but whoever is in charge of keeping an eye out for bottom 6 talent these last few years has really dropped the ball. Most of our young prospects expecting to come up in the next year or two are defensemen as well, so just seems like an obvious fix management has yet to address.
