really? im surprised ur mother doesnt know him. my mother actaully knows him due to the recent movies hes made
i think most ppl who dont follow fake wrestling know him due to the movies hes in. they may not know him as "the rock" but im pretty sure if u showed a pic of him on the streets more often than not ppl will recognize him
but then again MMA is relatively new so im sure once it becomes more mainstream there will be ppl that are a household name. as for now tho.. the elder punching irish rapist (sadly) is probably the one whos closest to it
I feel like if we grind down hard enough only jesus and mario are household names.
It may be just semantics at this point but people are trying to say that some rando in Venezuela or Mauritania knows the rock its nah.
My mom is 52 and knows brad pitt and george clooney. Everyone else is "that guy from that movie".
I was surprised about my gf considering she's on the edge of millennial/ gen x
Both of them know Mario.
I stand by my point earlier in the thread. If your house is an mma house - Even if you just started watching this year- its impossible not to have heard of GSP.
Much like if you haven't heard of Sakuraba, Fedor or Rickson Gracie then i don't think you're much past a casual fan.
I could be wrong, although i doubt it but Khabib > Conor McTinyDick in terms of global popularity.
Islam is 1/4 of the world population.
At the end of the of the day real mma fans should know of -mostly- everyone.
Casuals will keep repeating Conors name or bandwagon whoever wins the belt.
Not that there's anything wrong with casually enjoying anything.
