Well at least at 96 you don't really need boss xp, but once you 97 it'll be even harder, since your group will be about 98 x.x.
I really wanted to start a din or sorc on hc but life took a 180 last week and haven't been able to play since

top 4 isn't that miserable. 40k exp each if you spawn baal on p8, its better than top 3. 60k with shrine vs 75k with shrine for top2, its definitely manageable but at 98 i'd prefer t2 obviously

I think the top 4 thing has to do with not enough exp to share. There are so many 96+ it becomes difficult.

I am eventually going to start running t2 on Diablo and Baal soon I think.

That’s not as bad as I thought. I guess you have to take what you can get as well

for me at times it was take that top 4 or get no runs at all, main reason i lost nec race cuz ppl didnt want to split up top 2s lol so a few of us just got shafted or tried to pub. my necs too weak to pub so it was rough at times

max exp for 2 players is p5, so in perfect runs
1 leaves early to pre cs
1 leaves early to pre tele throne
1 leaves early to shrine for high lvls

so top 2 is >>>> top 4 just because you can get way faster runs as well with the pre tele
in top 4, you need 8p to get max exp so slows you down a bit too
