nothing official at this point, but blizz is hiring people with the express intent of remastering their classic games. SC1 is actually announced and near release i believe but they have not officially said anything about d2 and WC3.
they also have been cracking down on some of the bots and dupe methods since the latest reset which would imply maybe they are trying to clean it up for a remaster release, although it seems the d2 hacking community is pretty much non-existent so no one updates programs for the new patches and so people were using a "version hack" to use old hacks and that is what they have been detecting and banning; not sure if the code of the hacks was actually adjusted for the updates if blizz would be able to detect them.

if d2 actually was remastered i wonder if our people would actually play

im thinking 30% would
what people don't realize is with a remaster it strains the servers a lot more than d2 and people like Ben wouldn't be able to play with us in NA nearly as well as he was able to with d2 vanilla, and even cross country play will be severely hampered. Its a lot larger packets to be sending back and forth.
