but things change maybe the surgery is better but its new so nobody has done it yet and he wants to be the first sorta deal
or maybe he wants some random ass surgery that doctors would be like wtf why? is he going to have the same issue with other teams if they want him to get the same surgery as the sabers?
kind of an interesting situation with the medical being leaked cause now they can see hes either crazy or has a legit case and that could make or break the trade before it was a big question mark
no one in the NHL done the surgery before, but it's been used over 10+ years and a lot of MMA and NFL players have done it without problems.
It's just a poor excuse that Buffalo is trying to sell as a narrative so they don't look completely retarded. All surgeries come with risks.
They basically want eichel to choose the option that benefits the org by letting him play hockey asap, but then his long term health is the cost.
If you worked at a place and got hurt, you had the option to get 99% better and move on but had to take 6 month off vs get better 50% but return to work in 2 weeks, which would you choose? Company obviously prefers the later option.
The irony of all this is that if Buffalo just said fuck i don't like the choice you're making in your own life Eichel, but sure just do it as soon as last season ended, he would be back in few months. Now even if he does get it done, or traded, he's likely out the entire season. Herp derp.
