[Bruce Garrioch] Not much of an update but winger Anthony Duclair has been reaching out to teams on his own behalf. Has spoken with several _ if not most. Not sure if he has gone back to the Sens

According to Elliotte Friedman on the 31 thoughts podcast St Louis is considering filing a tampering charge towards Vegas lol

Why cry after treating ur #1 Dman with disrespect and did what you asked him to do "go explore FA" lmao lmao

‎[31 Thoughts: The Podcast] “I know when Toronto signed John Tavares, the Islanders filed a tampering charge against the Maple Leafs. [...] I don’t think it went very far. I think they did an investigation but the Leafs were cleared”.

Even though Doughty got money he has no structure or trade protection. Agents can minimax deals for players and hardball on every clause.

Don't feel one bit bad for Duclair, most uncertain FA era and he thinks he can do it all lol

ottawa offered him like 4x4 or something, he rejected the offer. Fired his agent, and chose to represent himself, thinking he can get 5x5 somewhere.
After talking with teams and no one is willing to do anything close to what he wants, Ferraro thinks he's being offered 1yr deals at low mil range.
Melnyk says his offer still stood few days ago, but idk if that's still the case otherwise Duclair woulda pounced on that shit, unless his ego is hurt lol

yeah he fucked up big time, he loses more money than paying the agent 3-5% cut. Like if lockout were to happen, EK loses about 2mil, whereas Doughty would lose 8 mil.
He's not buyout proof either, not front loaded either, so basically if he's bought out toward end of his contract, he's not gonna make full profit of his contract. Seeing how he dropped off the cliff rather sooner than later, it's gonna suck dick for him lol
Kings basically loved the fact he represented himself, took full advantage of the structure, blinding him with the money he wanted lmao

maybe he fired his agent because hes like take it its a really good deal and hes like "bruh fuck ottawa"

I’d rather sign AA than Duclair at this point. The only thing Duclair has going is that he’s only 24, and could be a longer term option.

I can’t believe he’s getting greedy, Ottawa was the perfect team for him to prove himself, get opportunity and it’s close to home. This would have been the most stability he’s ever had and he wants to fuck around

What a mess. What an ego to think you can represent yourself.

Insider Trading: Laine, Jets remain poised to part ways (Laine camp says trade would be mutually beneficial)
