Avs lose Johnson and 300K with this contract extension kicking in next season. If the cap goes up anywhere close the 17mil like it's reported todo over the next 2 years, the avs are going to be dangerous for atleast the next 5 years.

Legacy is just beginning

It won't go up that high in just 2yrs.

If anything, they'll increase it gradually per year to prevent crazy signings and all players trying to hold out for cap increase to sign new deals etc. Causing lockout.

Maybe @ 50% assuming he plays well this year.

At 10mil they are adding something significant. Even more if he falls off this year.

Will have 10M x 3 left after this season when Knight's contract kicks in.

Possible but 2.5M x 3 Y will probably cost the Panthers two second rounders or something alone.

I think the rule is 50% is max. So if 1 team retains 50%, another team can't help. If team a retained 20%, team b can do up to 30%

Nah, you can do 75% through 50 and 50.

Happened with Savard to Tampa through Detroit couple years back

Quote
Columbus initially traded Savard to the Red Wings for Brian Lashoff and retained 50% of Savard’s remaining salary.

The Red Wings then sent Savard to Tampa Bay for a fourth-round pick and retained 50 % of his remaining salary from the original move with Columbus.

Tampa Bay then sent the two draft picks to Columbus for Lashoff.

All of that maneuvering means Tampa Bay is getting Savard at just 25% of his salary cap hit for the remainder of the season. Given how close they are to the salary cap, that is very important.
