In b4 Sens: "we're a team"

Trading their first round pick next year for a guy on his last year of contract and retrade the guy to another team to receive a pick between 15-20

Fenton was trying so hard to dump Zucker somewhere. Had a deal to Flames, then a deal to Pens for Kessel. Guess GM Zucker fired him.

Well parise sucks now but suter still plays pretty good. They drafted well but their main problem is that they keep trying to finish 7-8 in the west and barely make the playoffs to end up losing in the 1st round instead of focusing on rebuilding properly/acquiring more draft picks

Yeah exactly though - they have like $16M tied up in those two guys who arent legit #1s at their position anymore. Damn near impossible to build around them and they dont finish low enough to get 'top tier' talent. They are probably the biggest mess in the league atm (Oilers fans rejoice) and they dont have a way out really. Parise/Suter are signed until 2024-2025 (jesus h christ)

god I hope Melnyk is calling Benning about Erikkson because his salary right now is only half of the cap. and you know Benning isn't actually going to recognize a good business opportunity

So the Sens are spending ~13M under the cap floor.

Well they told us when to expect them to be competitive. It looks pretty embarrassing but after this season we will have another top 5 pick to our already nice prospect pool, and lots of cap space to bring a good RFA/FA. We are in a good spot, and we should easily be able to win battle of ontario against leafs this season so that's something.

The New Jersey Devils have re-signed defenceman Will Butcher to a three-year, $11.2 million contract with an AAV of $3.73 million.

Girard signed for 7 year extension,

also saw this on capfriendly twitter

Leafs paid more in signing bonuses ($59.8M) than Sens will pay all year in salary expenses, and their total salary expenses this year are almost $100M. And that's before they sign Marner.

7X5 for Girard. Great signing  while his size worries me a little bit. He protects the puck so well.
