Yup. Makes me mad that Miller will probably get tacked on with unfair expectations because our GM can't negotiate.

He's known to be a streaky, inconsistent player (lots of multi-point games, lots of no-show games). It won't be pretty if he doesn't put up the ~55 points he's been brought in for.

Yeah, seems like Nashville prioritized taking zero cap back.

There are some other teams that could have done it but I'm guessing now that Subban's fell out of favor with two teams because of his off-ice stuff, they stayed away.

Shero's made some great trades, and the lottery has also been very kind to him.

Subban’s off-ice life didn’t seem to be the cause for this, it was more his actual play and being a #4 at 9 million

He definitely didn't have his best year this past season but I doubt the majority see him as a #4. It wasn't too long ago that he was a top-10 D-man in the league.

I just don't see any other player of his pedigree/name-value going as cheaply.

it was obvious they were gonna trade him when they decided to not honour his nmc

Wish the habs did that trade we have like 10 million free cap and nobody to sign

Also he has like 2 years left on his contract

Well he was #3-4 on preds is what I mean, his off-ice had nothing to do with the trade was the point. Everyone loved him there

How important is it Vegas has no state income tax?

On a $5.9M/yr deal William Karlsson will take home an estimated $3.75 million after taxes in Vegas.

If he signed the same deal in other cities this is what he’d bring home:

TOR/MTL: $2.77M
LA/ANA/SJ: $2.99M
NY: $3.02

To phrase it another way, Karlsson is bringing home the exact same money on a $5.9M deal in Vegas, as he would an $8M deal in Toronto.

Nearly identical.

How do other teams even compete with this?
Sorry copy/paste was easier then trying to link.
