I am writing this because I love seeing amazing new lld items spawn. In my own experience, as far as your time goes, this may be the most efficient way to gamble.
For lvl18 Gambling:1: Grush/Crush a char
2: lvl the char to lvl25
3: equip "edge" runeword bow (
edge bow reduces vendor price by 15% so each circlet costs around 4k less)
4: make a hell game (allows you to sell crappy items back for more gold than if norm or nm)
5: gather gold with which to gamble
6: start gambling (npc dose not affect the items available or affixes)
Items to watch for:
1: Circlets (the main reason to do this)
mod combos to be looking for on those circlets (2 sockets if obviously what we all wanna see from these):
100-120ar/30-40life
ar% per lvl/30-40life
+1 skill tab/30-40life
+1 skill tab/20frw
+1 skill tab/10rep
+1 skill tab/10fcr
10-30%enhanced dmg/20frw
10-30%enhanced dmg/30-40life
10-30%enhanced dmg/10rep
Some nice finds I had.
also keep in mind that you should be watching for other items as well. (ideal mods in parenthesis)
2: Sashes/Light Belts (24fhr/40life/5rep/20mana/res)
3: Throwing Spears (ctc amp/20ias/kb/+ed%/min-max dmg/increase stack/replenish)
4: Bone Shields (17fhr/30/20/life/mana/dtm/2os/res)
5: Flails (20ias/ar/ed%/ctc amp/min-max dmg/ele dmg/2os)
6: War Axes (20ias/ar/ed%/ctc amp/ele dmg/2os)
7: Clubs (1ele or summon/strength/2os)
8: Claws (1trap or martial arts/ctc amp/ed%/max dmg/20ias/ele dmg/kb/2os)
* while it may be tempting to gamble amulets or rings. it's generally not going to be worth the gold that it costs, especially relative to the cost/value of other items listed.
For lvl30 Gambling:Preamble (I find it much less likely to find anything worth using when gambling for lvl30. The affixes have a much wider range and therefore have a much lower chance of spawning with enough usable mods to it useful. That being said it is still worth doing especially if you are looking for something very specific that is not readily available or traded for)
1: Grush/Crush a char
2: lvl the char to lvl39-45 (this will depend on which items you are going to be trying to aquire with specific alvl mods)
3: equip "edge" runeword bow (
edge bow reduces vendor price by 15%s)
4: make a hell game (allows you to sell unwanted items back for more gold than if norm or nm)
5: gather gold with which to gamble
6: start gambling (npc dose not affect the items available or affixes)
Recommended items to gamble:
Circlets
Belts
Boots
Gloves
Bows
Harpoons
Hand Scythes
(There may be more but these are probably where I would start.)
