Wilson isn’t going anywhere.

The division is way too far ahead in every category.

The only advantage they have is Wilson.

I was hoping they’d trade Metcalf for some draft capital.

Do you see Metcalf with his size not having any injury concerns for the next 4 years?

Plus if you're sticking with Wilson then you want the route runners like Baldwin, Kearse, Tate, and Lockett.

They have the most success with Wilson and they're cheap. Big guys like Metcalf will give you some draft capital and once they have an injury they are so big it usually sticks around for the rest of their careers.

He's a good receiver but he's inconsistent and has a problem tracking the ball. He's big but terrible at contested balls.

Rather see a good route runner and some nice capital in the draft.

There's no way he plays the majority of the next 4 years injury free. Big WR's never do.

His average:
72 rec/1,057 yds/10 TDs

He's 24 years old and won't turn 25 until mid December and Lockett will be 30 at the beginning of the season.

He's got good numbers for sure.

His attitude also sucks, he can't win the 50/50 ball and bigger WR's struggle with recovering from lower body injuries. Which he just had surgery on his foot.

Wilson would put up similar numbers with a good route runner than he would DK.

Locketts numbers are basically identical to DK's and we all know Lockett is underrated but doesn't have the same speed as DK or size. It's literally just route running and ability to track the ball.

I'm not saying DK is an overall bad receiver all I'm saying is you can get similar value out of a good route runner that can win his route because that's what has always been successful with Wilson.

So, Lockett/Eskridge/Swain, and some other scrubs are going to be more productive than Lockett/Metcalf?

I think if you can get the right draft capital for him then yes.

I think having a more dominant offensive or defensive line is going to equal more wins and bigger numbers.

Especially if we are in agreement that Wilson is a good QB.

You can have absolute monsters at receiver but if you don’t have time to throw the ball or those WR’s don’t have the required time to get open then it’s incomplete.

So being a good route runner in their system is more important than being a physically dominate receiver. That’s why players like Baldwin had sustained success with Wilson in particular.

Smart and good route runners are far superior to athletic ability.
