Bogut provides great rim protection (during his tenure with the Warriors, he was top 10 and sometimes top 5 in the league at protecting the rim) and good rebounding. He was also a good post defender and could handle a lot of his match-ups. People also tend to forget that when Bogut joined the Warriors he took a lesser role to play towards their strengths, but during his time in Milwaukee he was a double-double machine and shot around 53-56% from the field.

Thompson is not a rim protector, is alright defensively in the post. He provides good rebounding (especially offensively) but not a real offensive threat outside of the rebounding.

Thompson is better now because of injuries and age, Bogut definitely had a higher peak.

D.Rose had a higher peak than most of the guards in the league.

DRose peak lasted for a relatively short time and was pretty overrated. Bogut was for a decent stretch. I didn't read the thread, I did not realize the argument was based on who would be better for the Cavs today.

No one in their right mind would argue that TT could compare to prime Bogut.
How far he was from his prime while playing less than 12 minutes a game in the finals is different subject.

That's not what the argument was lol its who was better in 2015-16 season
