Classic is harder to get mf, shoot for good killing speed then focus on mf

More Mf % = More chance of getting magic find items Ofc, There is no breakpoints however you much also consider if you invest so much on Mf Eq your charcter will be weaker and this results to a slower runs. So My tips is you should use hammerdin since its cheap, overpowerd, fast for Pvm/Pvp. The basic Mf setup i use is: Shako (Isted), Wizzy (Isted), Enigma, spirit st 35% Fcr, 2x Ring 40% Mf, Wt 50%, Trang gloves, Arach, Paladin amulet 2 to pala skills 30% Mf, many 7% mf Sc's + 40% gheed, Torch anni.
With this build your able to break the 125% fcr breakpoint and have 530 +% Mf and over 9k Dmg with Max resist in hell.

are you asking how to find magic items most effectively in Classic (as opposed to Expansion: Lords of Destruction) Diablo 2? If you are then the most effective way is to use a glitched character. Someone who has the quest opens the game, and you use a character that has not completed the quest to kill Diablo (or meph if you want to go with a meph glitcher) - it is possible to keep Andy glitched while completing the quest, and you can easily find info on how to do that by searching around. You do this while wearing ZERO magic find. Your drops are guaranteed to roll as set items or better. The only way to end up with blues is by rolling failed sets - the item drops as a blue with double durability. failed uniques result in rares (with triple durability), which are actually the more valuable items in classic.
