The schedule seems weird this year. For example, before last night game the Islanders last played on the 24th.. and now their next game is on the 4th. That's a 5 days break, play 1 game then a 4 days break.. Doesn't make any sense.

they've got no home arena

Ohh that explains it. I guess they want to give them long breaks while they're on the road and once their arena is ready they'll play a bunch of home game b2b.

Now they play 6 games in 10 days before another 6 day break
