Yep
Could and should have been a lot worse.
I feel like kanter could have got a few more minutes and a little more of a role on offense? Maybe brad is just slowly weening him into the system? Tatums stats for the game seem a bit better than they appear, I think he needs to take a step back for sure. He's looking to be the clear #1 scorer and I think brad wants him to be that but he doesn't have the ball control OR the finishing ability at the rim to be guy that. I'd definitely look at Hayward as the #1 option for now. Looks to have his quick first step explosiveness back and I think he's finally found his rhythm with his shot.
Do we see timelord given a greater role and preferred option over theis or was that strictly match ups?
Kanter played great defense on Embiid too. Sure, plenty of double teams to help him....but Al Horford also got the same help guarding him. I loved what I saw from our defense.
We just couldn’t make shots. Mainly FTs....we can’t have a small lineup that’s going to get out rebounded if we are going to miss every jump shot and FT...
Bench scoring was also a major issue. Not going to worry to much though since it’s only game 1. This will be fixed once Kanter is coming off the bench. He’ll lead the 2nd unit.
Williams should be the starter but not until he learns to play defense instead of just wanting highlights. He jumps at everything...
But yeah...we couldn’t have played worse last night and we were still in it mid 4th Q in Philly.....I’ll take it
