Hello d2jsp members this guide is meant to show you how you can increase the overall speed and the performance of your computer.

Uninstall unnecessary application and programs:
In Windows XP, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
In Windows 7 and Vista, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features

Remove duplicate files:
You may not realize how many duplicate files you have accumulated on your system! Even people who do relatively little file management and movement can still accumulate duplicate files. It is a painfully time consuming task to try to remove all of them manually. Try to use a program such as Malwarebytes' anti-malware, or CCleaner to get rid of these files that have duplicated.

Delete useless files using "Disc Cleanup":
If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, use Disk Cleanup. It removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of system files and other items that you no longer need. You don't even have to click a "Save" button once while using your computer to accumulate junk files. Simply checking emails, setting your computer to hibernate or surfing the web will build up junk files on your computer. One way to clean them up and speed up your computer is to run the Windows inbuilt "Disk Cleanup" utility. To do that go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup. You can also get third party programs that can find and delete even more junk

How to delete files by using Disc Cleanup:
1)Open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then, in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.
2)In the Drives list, click the hard disk drive that you want to clean up, and then click OK.
3)In the Disk Cleanup dialog box, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the file types that you want to delete, and then click OK.
4)In the message that appears, click Delete files.

Use "Disk Defragment" to make more available space on your computer:
What the Disk Defragment does is, It splits the files into small fragments and fits these fragments into any available free space blocks. When you are opening a fragmented file, the drive’s read/write heads are forced to move more to access all parts of the file. The more fragmented the files are, the more time is needed to access a file. So if opening files takes ages and you can hear your hard drive thrashing, you can be sure that it’s fragmented.
How to access the Disk Defragment:
1)Open the Disk Defragment by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click Disk Defragmenter.
2) When you are at this point you can choose which part of your system that you want to run the program on. You can do this by clicking what Disk you want to defrag, then click "Disk Defragment".
3) You can have a scheduled Defragmentation set so that it automatically does its job, kinda like an anti-virus.

How to cleanup unwanted registry and data using "CCleaner":
Safe link for CCleaner Free download: http://ccleaner.en.softonic.com/
CCleaner is a program that was made to protect your Web browsing privacy on a shared or public computer by deleting passwords and other temporary Internet files, so that nobody will be able to see where you've been.
It will also clean up your window's registry by removing information that is no longer needed in your system. With this said, your computer can be much quicker by just deleting unwanted registry and errors that your computer finds.

Adjust your power settings:
Change your power related settings so that your computer can resume from power saving settings more effectively and efficiently. Keep in mind this will only help if you are running on battery life, and will not change anything should you be connected to an outlet.
