Nah, id rather get some more elite talent at the top of the draft board over the next couple years, rather than be a playoff bubble team stuck in mediocrity because we have a kid who can score some goals when he isnt wasting his potential playing fortnite.

Exactly why his value would be lower and great timing to mature him imo.

If he plays for us we wont be a bottom dweller, he'll be just productive enough to get us close to, maybe into the playoffs. We'll get handled first round and we wont be getting those high picks.
And his value wont be low, on top of having to trade for his rights which wont be cheap, we'll have to pay somewhere in range of 7-10m. So he wont be cheap to acquire, or sign.

yeah, lafreniere, byfield, lundell, holtz, raymond. Its a good year to be a bottom dweller. From what ive read all of these guys project to be similar in skill to Kakko/Hughes

And then you have the russian price, Askarov, expected to go in the top 10, Barron on D. Really picking anywhere in the top 8-10 would be a huge help for us.

byfield is that byram and caufield's kid? Also seems like laine wants to be carried by his teamate's. Needs to mature i'd say. Wings could use a goal scorer for sure

Zadina is supposed to become our goal scorer, we'll see though

Veleno showing way more promise, although he's being assisted by Zadina. Time will tell, i can see Zadina flopping. Hope i'm wrong

veleno was given exceptional status by the CHL to play early, only a few players have that designation among them are Tavares and McDavid. His falling was a fluke and we lucked out.
zadina on the other hand just barely came over from europe, played one year of junior and was drafted. He is still getting used to playing the game on smaller ice, and with better players.
I dont think zadina will flop, he is just going to take a little more time than your average prospect.

Yeah we shall see, Veleno dropping that far seems almost unfathomable.. rigged? XD
He looks very nice in preseason games, he will be on the roster next year no doubt
