Alledgely.

But saying that, if some of the details of what Maguire and co did are true then he is a very lucky boy to not be sitting in a greek prison right now.

End result is he's got off light as fuck and has had the priveledge of the England boss and large segments of the media defending him before the court even came to a decision. He'll no doubt also have utd working tirelessly to sweep it under the rug as fast as possible.

Other players wouldn't be so lucky. Not by a long way.
I think that's the other way around, he's not getting treatment that's different than it would've been different for any other celebrity as once press starts digging and all sort of stories of alleged human trafficking, police corruption, police brutality come out etc then it's becoming bad for business for the country as as whole that largely depends on tourism.

3 days ‘court decision’. that’s some bs no matter who the defendant is Maguire, Brendan Rodgers, or old Bill the baker from Nowhereland.

"And in any case what is strange about this case about the sister is that the sister was interviewed by police and she said nothing about that to the police. This is a new line of defence that we heard recently."

So... Made up BS then.

Regardless,

‘Those with any familiarity with Greek tragedy will recall the story of Achilles, who avoided the fighting until a loved one was injured and his subsequent actions ultimately caused his own downfall. Few will wish to paint Maguire in a heroic light, although his desire to protect Daisy, whom his legal team claimed was attacked by Albanian gangsters, is admirable and typical of the man.’

Manchester United have signed two of Spain’s brightest teenagers, Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez.

The young duo have been signed from Barcelona and Real Madrid’s youth setups respectively, with United reportedly beating a host of top European clubs to their signatures.

The two prospects are now in Manchester under a two-week quarantine – as per government protocol for arrivals from Spain – ahead of completing their moves.

16-year-old Jurado and 17-year-old Carreras, a right-back and left-back respectively, both turned down contract offers at the La Liga giants to join the United academy.

The pair were pictured in United training gear on Wednesday and appeared to confirm their squad numbers, with Fernandez wearing the number 90 and Jurado wearing the number 88.

United are yet to make any first team signings, with all of their energy so far wasted on negotiations with Jadon Sancho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to add quality to his squad ahead of the new season, which starts in three weeks time.

Manchester United are interested in Ajax's Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek.

The 23-year-old was left out of the Ajax squad for Saturday's friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Coach Erik ten Hag said "developments" regarding his future had kept him out of the game.

Van de Beek, who has been capped 10 times by the Netherlands, was a key part of the Ajax side that reached the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals.

United have yet to make a signing in the transfer window but could face competition from Barcelona, who have been heavily linked with Van de Beek having signed his former Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong last summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side play their first game of the 2020-21 Premier League season at home to Crystal Palace on 19 September.

Central midfield is probably the last position that needs strengthening unless he's going to play deep being Pogba and Fernandes.

I’ll happily take him at that price. The squad needs depth everywhere. If Pogba or Fernandes are hurt that ruins a great deal of the creativity. We saw how drab it was from October - February with Pogba out until Fernandes was finally brought in.

Only way United were scoring at all during that stretch seemed to be Rashford pulling off some moves.

ngl, always considered van de beek the true star of that miracle ajax team. de jong and de ligt are talented, but vastly overrated and way too error prone imo, and ziyech a bit of an off-brand mahrez.

with van de beek, united's midfield will be more than just pulling off some super casual skill-moves before giving the ball away and taking really good penalties...
