Watching this team is so weird to me. It's a hideous amalgam of random good players taken from other teams and from watching them this year it looks like Lebron is basically a tyrant. I remember a specific instance, I don't remember the particular game, I believe it was on the road, and Lebron was walking towards his bench leading into a commercial break and all the Lakers' road crew averted their eyes, very apparent they are afraid of him. I can imagine that dealing with him must be very nerve wracking. In a lot of ways I wish he had never gone to the Lakers, I do not consider him "our" player.
I've also been thinking that this is all a testament to how great of a player he really is. Biggest thing in the league and it isn't even close, from the way he conducts himself on the court, the way he is officiated, the impact he has on any and all players he interacts with, on both teams. I don't remember the Jordan era but it makes me wonder if it was like this.
Night and day between this guy and Kobe. It's unlikely I will ever have the same experience watching an athlete like I did with him and even after his retirement I remember nights when they'd show him in the crowd watching at Staples were just different.
Long +1.
