Of course he knew, why would he make that uncharacteristic move with his foot? He's obviously looking for contact, which is insane, because this may result in a penalty which, could be a game changer in the given circumstances.
Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% Madrid fan, I love the club and I love Ramost, but sometimes he takes the chance to hurt a player, without any consideration on how it may affect the team.

Wtf are you looking at? They're moving at the same speed and direction, both looking at the ball. Raul Garcia takes a large step and drags his trailing foot and Ramos lands on it and his foot gets taken along with it. It's a simple tangling of feet, it happens, it's happened many times to me when I played. There's nothing intentional about it, he has nothing to gain from this, but everything to lose.
