Florentino and Zidane are both protecting Karim so badly, it's disgusting. They have blind faith in him and don't care if there is no backup; they just want him to be happy, because they are sure some sort of miracle will happen and he will start performing.
Mayoral, if anything, should be the backup for Mariano. And personally I rate Mariano higher... I never really rated Mayoral or seen any potential in him.

Well. Bale has barely played over the last year, so it's natural for him to be struggling with his physique. Maybe he just needs time... the problem is that whenever he starts improving his form he is injured again. I still have faith in him, but I'll admit that my hope has its limits... if he spends another season struggling with injuries then surely he will never recover his previous form.
