Good God this thread is dead.

Ah, Loomis has some pretty amusing stuff. I had recently went back and looked at his "Fun With a Pencil" book. Since i had some free time, I figured that I might as well add some mileage to my pencil.

When using markers you can layer them on start with the lightest first cause they only get darker and darker the more you soak your paper

Also use pen for lines not marker

marker already has the ability to darken itself if you apply it in layers. don't use charcoal for 2 reasons. use light grayscale markers which are amazing to have in all cases.

charcoal is best worked with pastels or watercolor from my experience
marker not so much

charcoal is also messy unless you completely darken spaces
