39 def * 0.20 (20%) = 7.8

39 + 7.8 = 46.8

Diablo ALWAYS rounds down.. 46 = max def 1x upped bloodfists.

vampirebone = 65 def so
65 (0.2) = 13 so it's 78..
but i thought perf double up is 88 :x

I missed the +10 defense on the gloves..1x upped =56 max defense.. 2x upped = 88 you are correct.

do i HAVE to have 56 max def on 1st up to have 88 on 2nd?

I do not believe so. When you up it, it randomly picks the defense of the next AC.. the 20% ed is what matters i believe.

it still has a chance at 88 def even if first up isn't perf?

no it has to be perf to get 88 def.

when upping from basic to 2nd level glove the def is random between a certain amount same with 2nd level to the 3rd level max can be 88 you might have perf ed but its always just random
