most mods spawn already at a low level for rings, such as fcr and maximum mana on a ring.
here is a list of the highest mods (the ones that can make your ring valuable) on a ring. (still quiet low lvls)

suffixes:
-for the maximum amount of + strength (16-20) you must be lvl 79 in order to have the highest chance on this mod.
-for maximum amount of dexterity (10-15), lvl 61.
-for maximum amount of life (31-40), lvl 73.

prefixes:
-for maximum amount of all resist (8-11), lvl 61.

if you look on the site (link is in the guide), you will see a list of mods, with possible items it spawns on, and the item lvls.
look for "Ring" in yellow, and add 5 lvls to the lvl indicated. that is the lvl you will have to be in order to get the maximum
chance of getting that mod while gambling.

u need more luck on amulets then on rings or circlets, thats why i pref not to gamble them.
ofc u still have that chance to gamble the amulet you say, but u got to be very lucky..

and a barb that kills himself? i dont see the logic there

I mean he actually does the killing of monsters himself.

oh in that way. well you will get less eg obviously and u need good gear if u dont wanna die.
however its more fun.. leaping around and waiting is kind of boring.

yea u get less gold per run but you may be able to kill monsters a lot faster so more gold per time (you'd need as much frw as possible too to minimize traveling time too)

ud be suprised how fast a good equipped merc can kill.

for the frw, if u dont spec into killing but leaping u can put points in passive frw
