Ray wasn't escalating it so Montoya stayed out of it, if he had escalated it warnings could have been issued which would have been bad for Ray who pitches inside a lot with both his primary pitches. And if anything all it did was fire up Ray who at the time was in a second and third with none out and got out of it.

The O's are awful and have nothing to lose if their manager wants to be a clown let him, no reason for the Jays to get involved and risk a suspension

Yeah Os are garbage and so is Hyde as a manager.

Nobody would have been suspended even if Montoyo told Hyde to shut his face lol. Both dugouts would get a warning at the most but who would care.

It wasn’t that serious but it’s code to stick up for your guy especially a Cy Young caliber pitcher.

Possible scenario anyway unlikely to happen but theres also many other bad situations that could have come if it was escalated which could be devastating for the Jays

You need to give up the suspension idea because the odds of a suspension coming out of it in any way shape or form is so slim. You don’t disrespect the code and instead disrespect yourself because of the obscenely small chance of a suspension.

Do you know who Montoyo is? The amount of times he’s fiercely argued and got tossed in his career can be counted on one hand. He’s calm, very soft. He would probably even say Please after telling Hyde to shut it. But the point is that he says something.

I don't overly disagree in the moment I was shocked he didn't do anything and yea suspension would have been unlikely but not unheard of. Escalation could have been bad for the Jay's though, batters thrown at, benches clearing, etc don't want anyone on this team hurt everyone is contributing right now
