its pretty simple
i hate clicking thru all pages, so i rather showing most of the posts possible
how about showing 50/100 posts per page?
if anyone didnt know: u can choose that in ur settings menu

50 used to be possible until it was reduced to 25

so this change was on intention ; hence I doubt it will be changed back
