It may take longer, a lot of quality fursuits take a while to be made.

It might be up to 18 months, so that's why I am looking around to see who can make a good suit in a reasonable amount of time.

Since money isn't the hardest issue for me at the moment, I made enough over my summer job to cover at least a 2 grand fursuit.

That looks very nice, but really, there are a lot of quality fursuit makers that can have it done in a matter of months.
Blitz-tiggy here in NZ, probably the best fursuit maker here generally has them done in about 2 months.
If you have the money ready then over a year is far too long.
