Purpose of this Topic- I have seen several people ask how
to create a chantress. I created this guide in hopes of helping them. I
have included two builds, being a poor chanter build, which wont cost
much fourm gold, but will still get the job done. The other build I
have included is one for show. This is the build that will get many
people to admire you, however it may cost you a lot of fourm gold,
depending on prices. I hope you enjoy my guide!
Purpose of a Chanter- The purpose of a chanter is for those who need fast levels. A chant improves attk dmg, and AR.
****NOTE:
THIS CHANTER WORKS FOR BOTH CORES, HOWEVER THE PURPOSE OF THE MERC IS
FOR THOSE PKERS IN HARDCORE, ALTHOUGH THE MERC WOULD ALSO BE GOOD IN
SOFTCORE.********
A Guide to Create A ChantressSection I- A Poor Man's ChanterSkills:The most successful way of putting your skill points in is the following, It does not matter which order you put these in:
20 to Warmth-
This is a synergy of Enchant, and will therefore boost your damage.
Also, it will also help you quickly regenerate your mana, so you can
rechant easily, without having to waste too much gold for mana pots.
20 To Enchant- This is what your whole character is based on, and if you are creating this character, you will know that this boosts damage.
20 to Fire Mastery- As with all other fiire skills, it will increase damage.
1 To Static- Even if you are a chanter, you should still have this skill, if you need to help a friend
1 To Teleport- This will allow you to easily recieve skill shrines, or do mf runs in the game if you are bored.
Extra Skill Points!!-
This is often debated upon. With the skill points that you do not use
in the skills above our in the roots of the skills, you may use this in
basically any skill you choose. However, I suggest doing a different
element then fire, for you or your merc will be able to kill all who
are not fire immune. If you had the extra skill being fire, it would be
useless. I suggest putting these extra skills in Frozen Orb, for this
is
good even without proper gear. Along with putting it in Frozen Orb, You
should also put one in Shiver Armor, and Energy Sheild, however it is
in your opinion, if you will not go outside at all, then there is no
need to max these.
Stats:Strength- Enough For Gear
Dexterity- Enough For Gear
Energy- NONE
Vitality- Rest of your Stat Points
***Important!*** Make sure to take account of any charms adding stats, you do not want to waste stat points. Finally, we get to the most important part of your Chanter
Gear:Weapon: Hexfire(+3 to Fire Skills)
Armor: Enlightenment(+2 to Sorceress Skills)
Helm: +3 To Fire Skills Circlet (
- Says it all
)
Ammy: +3 To Fire Skills Amulet (
- Says it All Again!)
Sheild: A Spirit Monarch (FCR DOESNT MATTER)
Gloves: Magefists (+1 to Fire Skills)
Belt, Rings, and Boots: Doesn't Matter(As this is currently the Poor Man's Chanter)
Merc:The
Merc can go several ways, In each build. For the Poor Man's Chanter, I
suggest using an A1 Merc, with either gear with IAS Jewels, or a
Harmony, Guils Helm, and an armor of your choice in which you can
afford.
If you use an A2 Merc, choose a Holy Freeze One, and Equip
it with Insight, and a Helm and Armor of your choice. (In both merc's
builds, the weapon is the main feature, with the armor and helm varying
according to your budget.
This Build will get you about 2k Chant. It is Certainly Enough to finish Norm.Section II: Rich Man's ChanterSkills:The most successful way of putting your skill points in is the following, It does not matter which order you put these in:

Stats:Strength- Enough For Gear (Not including the charms in your inventory!)
Dexterity- Enough For Gear ( Not including the charms in your inventory!)
Energy- NONE
Vitality- Rest of your Stat Points
***Important!*** Make sure to take account of any charms adding stats, you do not want to waste stat points.Note: The Stats and Skills of a Poor Man's Chanter and a Rich Man's Chanter are exactly the same!Gear: (Differnet from a Poor Man's Chanter!)
Weapon: 5 Enchant Orb, 2 os. In the 2 open sockets, put PERFECT fire facets, it will add to your chant damage. ( The two sockets would be ideal)
Armor: Perfect Enchant Ormus, meaning +15 Fire Damage. Socket it and put a PERFECT Fire Facet.
Helm: +3 To Fire Skills Circlet, With 2 Sockets. Once Again, Put two PERFECT Fire Facets in the sockets.Ammy: +3 To Fire Skills Amulet ( Nothing Expensive here).
Sheild: Spirit Monarch, OR 4 os monarch with 4 Perfect Fire Facets ( Both would work).
Gloves: Magefists.Rings: Sojs or Bk's ( Both add 1 to all skills, make sure to have both ring slots filled by these).
Belt: Arachnids Mesh (Adds 1 To all skills, MAKE SURE TO HAVE THIS).
Boots: Anything, however it may be useful to have a pair of boots which add dex/str.
Note:
If you would like, As A second weapon/sheild, Use a CTA for the +1
Skill, Also, A Combination of a Dream Helm/ Sheild is always effectiveInventory 9 Grand Charms that give +1 to Fire Skills ( Extra Mods are not needed, however you may have them)
1 STorch ( Stats Do not matter)
1 Anni ( Stats Do not matter)
You may use the rest of your inventory for whatever purpose you like, I
suggest filling it with either Resist Charms or +2 Strength or
Dexterity Charms.
Merc:For
A Rich Man's Merc, I would suggest using an A1 Merc, with a faith bow,
a Dream Helm, and an armor of your choosing. The Armor does not matter,
for with the dreams on both you and your merc, and with orb and the
chant damage, it will be a deadly combination.
This Build may get you around 6k Chant.
***Note For Both Builds: If you would like a better Chant, then search for a skill shrine in Act 1.***Questions About This GuideQ: Wouldn't It be more effective to have a Passion Runeword on Switch?
A:It Would be useful, however I believe that chanters should not be near
monsters as often as possible, My build was meant for mostly in town,
however there would be help if needed.
Q: Wouldnt Lightning or Chain Lightning be a better move then Orb?
A: It Is an effective move, however I think that with the Dreams, orb would be more effective so you have the three Elements.
Conclusion
- I really hope that you found my topic helpful in the creating of your
chantress. Both Builds work equally well, and get the job done. If you
have any suggestions, post them and I will take them into consideration.
I enjoyed making this guide, and I hope you enjoy using it.
If you Would like me to make a guide about a certain way of playing
Diablo, such as ways of mfing, Post it here, for I will have this
bookmarked for me to look at.
I Will often look at people's topics
asking for builds, and if I see enough of them, I will create a guide,
that will hopefully satisfy the D2Jsp Community.
Thanks for looking at my Guide!!
