How to Put up a Sig/Avatar?The original instructions made by jL were outdated, so here are better, newer instructions
for those who have difficulties setting up their signatures and avatars.
First thing you need to do is to upload your signature and avatar pictures/images on a server.
Usually Graphic Artists who made the signature for you will provide you with hosting. Ask them
what the URL is for the pic. If not, then refer to this thread to find a host:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=172383When you have your images uploaded, follow these steps.
Setting up your Sig1. Go to
My Controls, which are at the top of the forum.
2. On the right side, under Personal Profile, click on
Edit Signature.
3. There you will see a white box in which you can type stuff. To insert a picture, type the following:
| CODE |
| |
Of course entering the URL for your picture.
4. Now go ahead and click the Update my Signature button at the bottom.
You should now be able to see your signature when you post on the forum.
Setting up your Ava
1. Go to My Controls, which are at the top of the forum.
2. On the right side, under Personal Profile, click on Edit Avatar Settings.
3. Under Your Image Avatars type in the URL for your avatar picture. This time, there is no need for the [ IMG ] tags. Just enter the address of the picture.
4. Now go ahead and click the Update Avatar button.
Things to Remember
- The maximum size for the avatar is 100x100 pixels. Anything larger than that will not be accepted by the site, or the image will get squished.
- The maximum size for the signature is 400x150 pixels. Anything larger that that will not be allowed. If a moderator or graphic artists sees you violate that size, you will be asked to either resize the picture or remove it all together. Please respect the rules.
- Usually, when you request a sig/av to be made in the forum, the graphic artists there will let you know what is the best place for hosting. Just ask them for any specific assistance you require.
- It is tradition to give credit to the designer/artist of your signature/avatar. Usually people will put a note under their picture, "Thanks to artist for making this sig/av". Unless, the artist doesn't care, it is polite to add such a note after your signature.
Thanks,
