Can you turn a non ethereal item into an ethereal item with the soj + p skull recipe? I know that it turns an ethereal item into a non ethereal, but wasn't sure if it worked the other way around as well.

Whenever you roll a rare, it always goes back to default durability. So failed uniques with triple dura will always go back to single dura and eth items will become normal. You cannot get eth or triple dura via rolling.
