I got a 55PFL8008S that pretty much has to warm up for 20 minutes before it starts... In my opinion, the problem could be some bad solders on the tv mainboard...

The problem is that these would require microscope and microscopical tools to fix, so I was thinking that one potential solution could be the ancient theory of putting your card into the oven at a certain degree for a certain time to make the problem fix itself...

Would anyone else here have a better solution or theory of what to do? :)

Card looks like this - photo from google:

Good idea! Gotta have to get a smaller soldering iron for that though! :)

2014 :) It's 55 inch though, annoying a f to deal with haha! I would either have to drive it somewhere or it would take up the whole waste room ;P

But just replacing that main board card or repairing it would really make my life easier :)

Update for the future googlers having the same problem,

It worked out for me :) I did change the cooler paste to regular CPU paste when reattaching the cooler.

The problem:

On the way to the oven:

* In the oven: ~200 degrees celcius for 7 minutes *

My idea with the tinfoil was to cool down the components under the card and also make sure they don't fall off. It was a bit stuck at the card after removal from oven.

Results, working Perfectly! Perfect picture too ( but the camera makes the colors a bit odd ):

Thank you! I am honestly feeling quite proud over all of this, I was so close to just buy a new tv instead but my laziness got in the way! :)

And one other thing to add here, is that the tv mysteriously changed language from english to swedish! Something truly got fixed, lol!

What you are experiencing is the CPU losing its solder connections. Sometimes oven works for a while, will likely go dead again. I've seen last like a year or more though.

Very best way is with professional equipment, second best is to use a hot air gun with the heat sink off obviously and third if you don't care using the oven, I bet your house stunk for a while lol.

I had the windows open, but there were some burnt electricity smelling indeed ;P

I do wonder though, why should it go dead again? Shouldn't the circruits be in place much better now?

I forgot to mention one important part: The old cooler paste on the cpu was really bad, it looked like double-sided tape... I believe the CPU won't heat up as much as it did earlier because of the new cooler paste I used :)
