patently false, mazda is up there too. precisely why i've bought them pretty much exclusively aside from a mustang i had.
aside from that, scotty is a boomer who has aged out of his profession and banks on clickbait + people who don't know any better, there is better automotive channels with properly vetted info.
You dare to put Scottie's name into question? Mazda is alright as are most Japanese car manufacturers. But Toyota, honda and a lexus all have had their names immortalised for the most reliable, cheapest overall cars to run and maintain.
I am not talking about new models +2020 because those are shiny object syndrome trap. Every intelligent conservative person buys second hand a reliable car make that stood the test of time and sticks with it.
