I have 5 copies of d2r but thinking about just going all the way to 8 when it goes on sale.

What's the most optimal way to pilot 5-7 accounts from game to game so I can do p8 solo

I have 1 extra machine and parsec is my best idea so far but there's gotta be something better ?

I read somewhere that you also don’t need to make copy’s of d2r folder to save space also. Something I would need to do to run 8.

You don't need to copy the folder for each instance. You can launch the game using launch parameters.
-username YourBnetEmail -password YourBnetPassword -address <REGION>
* <REGION> could be us.actual.battle.net, EU.actual.battle.net or KR.actual.battle.net for Americas, Europe or Asia respectively.

There are pro's and cons connecting with connecting with parameters instead of Authtokens. I won't go into it too much as it's off topic but parameters are a piece of piss to setup, you can just setup a shortcut on your desktop to point to d2r.exe and launch an account from that.
They unfortunately don't work with MFA and there are issues where accounts (typically newer accounts) get temporary lockouts from Blizzard when logging into non-standard region (eg if you usually login to NA, you might get a message saying your account has been locked meaning you have to answer a security prompt in the blizz website before you can login).


From what I understand, botters do something else entirely, they don't have traditional game clients at all (no GUI) and I'd hazard a guess they'd be running them via public cloud services rather from their personal PC's.


You'd need a GPU with a lot of VRAM to run more than 5 (with stability) on one machine. TBH Running that 8 characters yourself would turn the game into a chore.
Something I sometimes do is use a Sorc to tele to baal in a public game and then run TZ with my main character. That or I TZ U MF type games. Or shared TZ runs can is an option, it's not as efficient XP wise but it's kinda fun crushing TZ monsters with a crew of people.
