This dropped today and had me wondering if it had rolled 200% but not masters and repair + 2os larz if it would be useful? I'm going to guess no, but I aint all that sharp.

req level 51 man, oath way better

Masters mod bumped it up. I was curious if it would be useable if it had just rolled 200% ED which is lvl30.

master's is 48

knight's is lvl 30 but only 65 ed and 100 ar. merciless is sub 30 at 100 ed

My affix site says Ferocious mod is 41. 41*.75=30.75 (truncated) to lvl30

I opened the lookup up table on that website (which is just a txt file). There is no calculation it just references 33. Arreat Summit clearly states the lvl of an item is 75% of the highest affix level. Both Arreats and that lookup table list the affix level at 41. So it should calculate out to 30.

200% ED on Armor though is listed at Magic[45] Rare[50] which would put them at above 30.

you just have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the affix system works. master's mod on a magic naga is req level 48 and maxes out at 150 ed.

there is a lot more here than just a txt file. just use the site and mess around and stop trying to figure out archaic and hard to understand wikis

I understand perfectly how the prefix and suffix system works with rare and magic items. That's not even the question... which is how "required level" is derived. Nothing you stated clears that up. Simply stating it's 'x' mod and has a required level of 'y' explains nothing.

In my own digging it appears the text file look up table that site uses is extracted from the game files and that Arreats and other sites are wrong when they say "75% of the highest affix level" even though it does work in some cases. None explain why the required level is lower than the affix level... nor a logical explanation how its derived.
