Best A2 merc wep for a fire sorc that isn't Infinity or Insight?

Obedience helps with ar from concentration right? Any benefits to a sorc that I don't know of?

why wouldn't you want the two actually useful options?

something with life leech then I guess, so he can stay alive at least. but if the only thing your merc does is to stay alive, why would you even want him?

obediance would be a 3rd i guess unless your are enchanting your merc, then obediance would be overriding your enchant.
Ebotd War Pike would be the highest raw damage and tons of leech
Eth Reapers Toll has great damage and slows with decrep

anything else and were not giving you good options, were just helping you gimp your merc

I don't really need the mana recovery from insight and infinity isn't cheap at all so I'm hoping to up his dmg so he's a more useful meat shield that can occasionally kill something. Further, I'm hoping that if his dmg jumps up it will LL at a larger raw qty letting him survive large groups of fire immunes that take more FBs to kill with sunder.

I'd hire A5 merc, and equip him Eth Cryptic Sword Lawbringer and other sword of your pick, Gloom and arreats. Cheap and super tanky. If you can't afford eth Cryptic Sword, then any Sword Lawbringer will do the job.

why not go with act 5 merc with a plague then? they are more durable than the act 2 merc. the frenzy one uses taunt also. mine has plague pb and azurewrath arreats and eth g-angel. no dr but it seems like a good set up.
