To be clear, they never commercialized terminator seeds due to protest from farmers/eco activists. to that point though, farmers tend to purchase seed to plant every year anyway as it gives better crop yields than replanting seeds taken from a harvest. Secondly, terminator seeds are a neat technology if you're worried about GMOs escaping into the wild as they're inherently unable to escape and reproduce.

Not cause by Monsanto actually. As Monsanto seed sales went up in India, farmer suicides went down.

People died because Monsanto prioritized profit and expansion at any cost. Destroying farmland and peoples lives.

If you ask Indian people who started the problem they will say Monsanto.

Just because they've spent billions upon billions swaying big Indian agriculture doesn't magically make them a good corporate entity.

What's with you and not understanding "root causation" ???? If Monsanto never went to India and DIRECTLY intervened no one kills themselves over being financially ruined. :bouncy:

What's worse is the fact Monsanto got away with this not for a year or two but for DECADES. Because the average dirt poor farmer doesn't have the means to produce a lawsuit it was constant corruption. Only when the Indian government stepped in did it finally stop. Thousands of Indian farmers(mostly men) committed suicide because of the HOPELESSNESS surrounding the issue.

Do you think the individual farmers families who lost a loved one saw a penny? Nope.

If you pay off the government I guess you didn't commit a crime.

I should add there's a difference when a 1st world corporation takes advantage of one of the poorest peoples on the planet.

This is exactly what the British empire did to India for 150 years under the East India Company....

Wrong on so many levels where should we begin?

Monsanto owned by BlackRock are shady as hell, they're now buying up land in Ukraine in that ongoing blood debt trap-land grab...

They're fighting for land that is getting sold off anyway...

Same Blackrock that owns Hawaii Electric which avoided responsibility in the Lahaina fires despite them "cutting costs" that included not properly maintaining dry/dead brush beneath "low hanging wires" amongst other things.

So basically to make millions in profit they neglected their responsibility to properly maintain the electric grid and hundreds of people died. Only for the government to offer them 700 bucks a family while big money came in like vultures to try and scoop the land(Top 10 most valuable land in the world by the way).

What you have is one of the largest corporate entities creating the conditions that led to once again "human suffering" so they could profit off of it.

This is the same Blackrock whose health care investment arm said, "We don't want to cure people" / "We want to create patient/clients for life" otherwise we won't make money. We want to make billions a year not cure a disease and make no money.

They have always prioritized profit over people. Then they use that "profit" to pay off any lawsuit that gets brought against them. That's why you don't see Monsanto getting publicly shamed anymore. They paid everyone off. The lobbyist, politicians, judges, and individual citizens worldwide...
