I've been playing Diablo for about a year and I still consider myself a beginner, I really like Barbarian but I can't find a build that works without a lot of investment other than Singer which I didn't really like, could anyone give me a tip on which build to use?

wut lvl now? and softcore or hardcore?

I'm extremely defensive in HC, so I'd use Storm shield, lol :)

And equip a5 merc with Lawbringer and Plague.

Once decrep proc'd, then switch to main weapon(s).

Build based on ur items.

You can start with cheap items.

Like a low eth lacerator and a low eth warshrike.
Enigma ideally, but there are forti/duress/treachery if ur on super eco.
Guilaume is cheap either ias jool or cham if combi with wisp.
A 20fcr/3 soc helm is also strong but more exspensive.
Loh is cheap, early levels death sash + gloves are Nice.
Strings belt or arach
Gore boots, or war travs if want more mf.
Dual leech fcr ring
Raven or wisp
Cta phaseblade + hoto scourge

This thing can either be pure throw(which can use cheaper bo stuff) or mix of throw + singer with frenzy boosted throwing.

Ideally merc can be either Fana merc or insight merc.

This is kinda super eco one.
I made one early d2r just for fun. It can do hell, but its not quick. But at least u can mf with it.
The idea is jump on packs with spirit phaseblade and hoto war cry.
Quickly frenzy a few times to obtain Max attack speed(not needed with Fana merc). Then throw to amp enemies and then swap back and sing them to death xD its quite an active playstyle lol xD

Here is a example, far from optimal but cheap:

If you have some to spend, i have no idea about prices now you can either go frenzy or wirl.

The most common build is:
Guilaume
Enigma
10fcr/dual leech adds ring
Raven
Hl
Loh / arach
Gores
Dual Grief Pb
Hoto + spirit or hoto + hoto.

Other viable wepon choices for frenzy is:
Grief Pb + azure
Or
Grief Pb + lawbringer

Merc for those is typical eth reapers might merc, meanwhile lawbringer merc can be pride might merc.

Azure and lawbringer is good for high undead density terror zones
