from my experience softcore, just cause more people that play softcore like to trade here. Tried hardcore one league and took longer to trade.

I've heard similar things about ps/xbox version, items themselves go for a lot but less traders on the game and less traders on here to sell so it depends what you are looking for.
I can't say as much as the people who tell me this since I don't trade at all on here for poe, I just like to lurk to see crazy things people notice to make a char or use a mechanic to bank, things like that. It's pretty easy to learn all of it and don't need to look up news or anything. Lol

and even if hc were better, you will have unwanted pressure and you will literally dream that ur char is dying and shit like that

so my advice would be, if you are in just for the money, always sc. hc needs you to actually enjoy that shit to begin with

Short league events typically are the best for fg over the rest while normal currency would be single digit here, it's 100-300 until near the end. I haven't checked on those in a while but they used to be good income for people. I just use idle games to get my fg.
