Hey all, I just started to play. I used to play old school and just have a question about skilling.

In specific, I just started to dabble in ranged attacking. When I kill a cave troll it says something like 22exp + 6 bonus exp. I am only getting credit for the 6 bonus exp and thus making range skilling infinitely harder than other skills I have done so far. I have gotten mining to 50 in mear hours. Fire making, woodcutting to 30-35 in a short period as well. In comparison to ranged, this is going to take days to even achieve lvl 20 let alone 50.

What is happening to the main exp? Does this go to other skills? What am I missing here xD??

I have logged out and logged back in, have double checked that I am only receiving 6 exp per kill on the troll caves. Or is this just how ridiculously slow this skill is? This is much faster to train in Old school yet every other skill so far has been quicker to skill in RS3.

The +6 should be your HP exp drop

If you right click the globe that say XP in the top right by the map, you should be able to adjust the settings to split it up

i was thinking the same, or he could be training on long range so sharing between def exp too
couldnt tell if his question was for rs3 or osrs tho..

I thought it was an RS3 question too lol.

If it's an OSRS question, you gain exp every time you hit an NPC(if you hit a 1, you will gain 4 exp in main skill + 1.33 hp exp). So you may be confused and think you get all of your exp from killing an NPC. Low level combat takes longer than most other skills, but ramps up over time.
